Will Isko Moreno return to politics?

Actor-politician Isko Moreno was asked in a recent interview about his political plans and here is his answer to this.

Isko started in showbiz back in the 90s. After doing many projects, he ventured into politics. He started his political journey when he became a councilor of Manila in 1998. In 2007, he became the Vice Mayor of the capital city of the Philippines and eventually, the Mayor.

He tried his luck in the 2022 elections as he ran for president but did not succeed. From that, Isko chose to take a break from the political scene and returned to showbiz.

The actor-politician is now part of Sparkle GMA Artists Center. Currently, he is one of the cast members of the Kapuso primetime series Black Rider. Aside from this Isko Moreno will join two shows in California, USA for the Sparkle World Tour 2024.

During the media conference for this event, the actor-politician was asked about his political plans, based on the article in PEP. He said that politics is not in his immediate goals for now.

“I don’t think it’s on the top of my mind right now. I truly love serving the people. Half of my life, 24 years of working, was dedicated to public service,” Isko said.

He also shared that until now, he continues to share ideas with some officials of the country and some localities. Isko stressed that he is simply happy and thankful for where he is now and the opportunity he had to serve the people.

The actor-politician also said that helping other people would always be part of his life. “At hindi iyon mawawala sa puso ko. Hindi ko lang siya masyadong iniintindi ngayon dahil I continue to fulfill my obligation as an artist of GMA-7 under Sparkle,” Isko said.

He also said that he wants to focus more on his family. For 24 years, he became busy doing his responsibilities as a public servant. This is the reason why he wants to spend more time with his family now.

Back in 2023, Isko Moreno asserted that he would not run for the elections in 2025.
