The lawyer of Ronnie Liang released a statement on a recent issue
The legal counsel of singer-actor Ronnie Liang released a statement on rumors that he is “alaga ni Harry Roque.”
Just recently, the old video of Ronnie and former Presidential Spokesperson Atty. Harry Roque resurfaced on social media. It was because of the issue about Roque’s “travel companion” Supranational 2016 Alberto Rodulfo “AR” dela Serna.
In the viral video, Ronnie and Roque were riding on a boat, and the latter said, “Mamaya-maya, titingnan natin kung mapapa-topless ba natin si Ronnie Liang.”
Because of this, based on the article in Balita, this garnered speculations that Ronnie is Roque’s “alaga.” Atty. Ralph Calinisan, the legal counsel of the singer-actor made clarifications.
The lawyer stressed that Ronnie had no “personal dealings.” The video was from a trip to Dinagat Island back in July 2022. Ronnie as a Philippine Army reservist was there to help distribute relief goods to the victims of typhoon Odette. Aside from being in showbiz, Ronnie also does charitable endeavors like what he did on his birthday last year when he celebrated this with children with cancer.
It was also stressed in the statement that there were a lot of soldiers, policemen, and local government officials who joined that endeavor. Out of courtesy, Ronnie gamely joined Roque’s vlog at that time.
“Ronnie only chanced upon Atty. Roque after the humanitarian mission,” the legal counsel of the showbiz personality said.
The lawyer straightly denied that his client is the “alaga” of the political figure. “Para malinaw, si Ronnie Liang ay hindi po ‘alaga’ ni Harry Roque tulad ng ibig ipakahulugan ng ilan,” bahagi ng press statement. Sumama raw si Ronnie sa vlog ni Atty. Roque dahil siya ay “courteous and well-mannered person,” the lawyer stated.
After that clarification, Ronnie Liang expressed his support for the LGBTQIA+ community. He said that he is a proud ally of the community. He and his whole team would like to take this opportunity to show support and to call for equality and inclusivity for everyone.
