Are showbiz reporters avoiding issues about Bea Alonzo?
Showbiz reporters talked about the decision of Kapuso actress Bea Alonzo to file cyber libel cases against showbiz insiders Cristy Fermin and Ogie Diaz.
Intrigues and controversies in the lives of celebrities are quite normal. As public figures, they are often under the spotlight. Although publicity is part of their profession, there are instances that “bad publicity” is connected to their names.
It is the job of showbiz reporters to bring the latest and the juiciest showbiz topics, gossip, rumors, and controversies to the public’s attention.
However, there are times when showbiz personalities would cry foul over the issues being thrown at them, just like what Bea Alonzo did when she filed cyber libel cases against Ogie Diaz and Cristy Fermin and their respective co-hosts.
In a recent episode of Marites University, based on the article in Balita, showbiz reporters discussed the counter affidavit that Ogie filed, and this lead to the topic of what they would do when there is an issue about Bea – whether they will write about it or not.
He added that other reporters would say that they can’t write that kind of story because they were thinking that Bea would have the same reactions, taking a legal action.
On the other hand, showbiz columnist Rose Garcia said that she will still write about it and her co-host Mr. Fu said, “E, kasi responsibilidad ‘yon ng isang showbiz reporter.” Then, Rose Garcia said that Bea Alonzo is fun to talk with because of her wit and intelligence, and that they can get a lot from the actress.
