The MMDA is also the body that implements the color coding scheme in Metro Manila as a way to reduce the vehicle congestion most especially on the main roads. However, recently, there were persons who identified themselves as MMDA enforcers but they were not associated with the government agency.

Recently, a video of a man who pretended to be an officer of the government agency went viral. He caught a motorist over an alleged violation and tried to extort money. When the motorist asked for his ID, he suddenly fled.

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority investigated the situation. In a recent post of the government agency, it denied that the man who pretended to be a traffic enforcer is part of the agency or connected to them.

The government agency stated in a post that it verified the viral incident and the man is not their employee. MMDA acting chairman Attorney Don Artes is calling for the public that if anyone knows the man you can come to their office.

Artes vowed to give Php 10,000 reward money to anyone who can give the name or address of residence of the man who pretended to be an MMDA enforcer. Anyone who knows the man can also send a personal message or direct message to the official Facebook page of the government agency.

According to the acting chairman of the government agency, it is set to file charges against the impostor traffic enforcer. Here’s the official post of the government agency:
