3 Construction Workers Ganged Up by 10 Teenagers in Liloan, Cebu
10 teenagers reported ganged up and attacked three construction workers in Barangay Liloan, Cebu.
On Sunday night (June 16, 2024) around 8:30 PM, a violent brawl occurred at a food park in Barangay Liloan, Cebu involving 3 construction worker victims and around 10 teenagers as the suspected attackers.
Based on video footage, the victims – Adrian, Vincent who are minors residing in Barangay 2 Liloan, and 23-year-old Niño – were drinking when they decided to leave on their motorcycles. However, they were suddenly attacked by a group of more or less 20 youths.
The workers were pelted with rocks, stabbed with tubes, and struck on their heads, causing them to fall off their motorcycles. They managed to flee and run away from their assailants.
The victims were brought to the hospital while the Liloan police immediately conducted a follow-up investigation. By 9 PM, 9 suspects were arrested, and by 11:30 PM, the mother of one suspect turned him in.
The suspects range from 16 to 19 years old. They were positively identified by the victims. One suspect claimed there were only 10 of them involved, based on their conversation about punching their minor friend.
Apparently, they were looking for the person who punched and hit their three victims with a flashlight. They apologized and explained, but one of the victims allegedly punched their friend, triggering their desire for retaliation.
