Elijah Canlas had this reaction to people’s misconception
Kapamilya actor Elijah Canlas reacted to speculations that he is gay because of the movies he did in which he played gay roles.
Elijah is one of the most versatile actors of his generation. With his offbeat roles, his acting caliber has been noticed by movie critics. He continues to surprise many people with the different characters he portrays.
In a recent interview on talent manager-vlogger Ogie Daiz’s vlog, Elijah said that he is aware of other people’s perceptions about his gender orientation but he is not affected by this.
“Hanggang ngayon naman yata, Mama Ogs, napagkakamalan ako. Pero I’m fine,” the actor said. For Elijah Canlas, it is like a compliment that people think that he is gay because of his gay role.
He played gay roles in the movies Gameboys and About Us But Not About Us. On the other hand, he said, “Secure ako sa sarili ko, e. Alam ko kung sino ako, e.” The actor added that as much as he wants to be part of the community, he cannot because he knows himself and he is staying true to himself.
However, Elijah stressed that when it comes to gender, there is no inferior or superior because, for him, everyone is equal.
The actor is currently in a relationship with actress Miles Ocampo. It is known to many showbiz fans that Miles and Elijah broke up but reconciliation rumors surfaced months after their separation.
In an interview last May, Elijah Canlas said that he and Miles Ocampo are doing good and they are happy when asked about the status of their relationship. Early this June, Miles was also asked about their relationship. The actress said, “We’re happy, we’re happy. Yun na lang po ang gusto kong i-share talaga kasi kaming dalawa, masaya naman po kami talaga.”
