The red carpet is rolling out for the 7th Entertainment Editors’ Choice Awards for Movies, also known as The Eddys. This is happening on July 7 at the Ceremonial Hall, Marriott Grand Ballroom, Newport World Resorts in Pasay City.

The event is organized by the Society of Philippine Entertainment Editors (SPEEd). This will directed by award-winning actor and filmmaker Eric Quizon, the director who directed last year’s Eddys.
Actresses Kathryn Bernardo, Julia Montes, and Marian Rivera are vying for the Best Actress award along with Charlie Dizon, Vilma Santos, and Maricel Soriano.
In the Best Actor award, the nominees are Elijah Canlas, Dingdong Dantes, Cedrick Juan, Piolo Pascual, Alden Richards, and Romnick Sarmenta.
This award-giving body aims to encourage local filmmakers, producers, writers, and actors to go on in their passion for filmmaking and creating films that reflect the reality of the society.
Seasoned actors Eva Darren, Nova Villa, Leo Martinez, Lito Lapid, and Gina Alajar will also be honored in this event. Late comic strip creator Carlo J. Caparas will also receive a tribute for his great contributions.
