A grandma goes viral online and earns admiration online for tracking her grandkids to ensure they are safe.
Recently, Ali Ojiram Gagarin, a Facebook user, Ali shared photos of her grandma tracking her grandchildren’s safety. The post immediately spread like wildfire on social media and elicited comments from the netizens.

Despite her age and unfamiliarity with modern technology, she goes to great lengths to track their rides and ensure they reach their destinations safely. Ali’s grandmother might not be tech-savvy, but that doesn’t stop her from looking out for her family.
Each time Gagarin and his siblings book a ride through services like Angkas, MoveIt, or Grab, their grandmother takes careful notes. She records the rider’s name, and the motorcycle’s plate number, and tracks their progress to ensure they arrive safely.
Before the rider departs, she always gives a heartfelt reminder: “Manong, dahan-dahan lang po ha, ingat po palagi at God bless po sa inyo.”

Using a pen and paper, Ali’s grandmother asks for a cell phone to check the ride’s status. She then diligently writes down all the necessary details. Her commitment doesn’t end there. She patiently waits, sometimes even falling asleep while waiting, until she knows her grandchildren have safely reached their destination.
Her age and the limitations it brings do not stop her from being actively involved in ensuring their safety.

Despite being 86 years old, Ali’s grandmother wanted to learn how to use a cell phone. She hopes to become proficient enough to book rides herself someday.

“Just wanted to take time and appreciate my Lola.
Everytime we go out and book for a transpo (angkas, moveit, grab), our lola always makes sure that we get to our destination. Everytime the driver arrives to pick us up from the house, she makes sure that she’s there to tell the driver “Manong dahan-dahan lang po ha, ingat po palagi at Godbless po sainyo”
Then she immediately goes inside the house, grabs a pen and paper, and asks for a cellphone to track the status of our ride. Since my lola does not know how to use a cellphone, she constantly asks to switch on the app so she may list down the name of the rider as well as the license plate and the destination that we go to. She would get mad if you don’t do it asap She then sits down and patiently waits up until we reach our destination. Sometimes you can see her falling asleep just by waiting for us to get there but she won’t mind as long as we get there and come back home safely. And to tell you, she’s already 86 yet she mentioned that she wanna practice on how to use a cellphone so that she will be the one to book us up someday.
These are the little things that shows how big of a love some of our grandparents have for us. That’s why to all the “Apo” or Grandchildren out here, let’s take time and appreciate what our lolo and lola does for us. Time is precious and they may not always be by our side so let us cherish each moment and make them feel the love that they deserve. Alagaan at mahalin nawa natin hangga’t kapiling pa natin sila.
We love you lola”
