Staff Member Says Priest in Viral Wedding Video Not at Church on Monday Mass
The priest in a viral video scolding a couple for being late to their wedding was not present at church on Monday mass.
Previously, a female netizen named Janine Seit Suelto-Sagario expressed her disappointment over the mishaps that happened on her wedding day. The incident elicited comments online.
Recently, Janine narrated that her wedding was originally scheduled at 8:00 AM on June 8, 2024 (Saturday). However, a convent staff informed them that it was rescheduled to 9:30 AM.
On their wedding day, the couple arrived at the church at 8:45 AM but was reprimanded for being an hour late by the church staff. They were not given a chance to explain their side of the story.
Recently, a staff member from Saint Andrew the Apostle Parish Church in Poblacion Proper, Amlan, Negros Oriental clarified that the priest seen in the video was not the one officiating mass on Monday, June 10, 2024.
They explained that this particular priest had a prior engagement scheduled a week in advance and was not available that day.
The video, which quickly went viral, shows the priest reprimanding the bride and groom during their wedding ceremony for arriving late. The incident earns mixed reactions online, with many people discussing the appropriateness of the priest’s actions.
Church officials made it clear that the priest in the video was not present at the church on the day the clarification was issued. They emphasized that the officiating priest for the day’s services was different and had no connection to the viral incident.
