Piolo Pascual goes back to teleserye
A-list actor Piolo Pascual talked about her character in the upcoming Kapamilya series Pamilya Sagrado.
After several years of taking a break from doing a series, Piolo will star in a new TV series project and he is playing an interesting character. In a previous interview, the actor shared that doing a series again is like coming back home.
He will give life to the character of Rafael Sagrado in the series, a corrupt politician. Based on the article in Pilipino Star Ngayon, Piolo shared a glimpse of his character.
The actor said that he was thankful that he accepted this project. The late Dreamscape Entertainment head Deo Endrinal was the one who convinced him that the role fit him.
Piolo Pascual shared that his character has an interesting development as the story continues. “It wasnât about being a bad guy or baka mag-paint ng ibang pictures sa tao. But itâs all about redemption. Itâs not all bad naman throughout. So overarching yung journey na nagsimula siya rito. But of course, through the course of time, makikita mo âyung pagbabago niya bilang tao, not just being a politician or a father,” he shared.
He was told that he might become a president in this series. Piolo was quite apprehensive about this but since Sir Deo trusted him that he could pull off this role, he accepted the offer. This was quite challenging but Piolo said, “Why not?”
The actor also shared that his character will start as bad but as he goes through situations that would lead him to face his own demons and choose between right or wrong, the change will happen.
“So, marami talagang kapupulutan ng lessons sa character ko. And weâre halfway through with the shoot, so marami pa siyang pupuntahan. And I really brought him to the darkest side,” he said.
Piolo Pascual shared that he did this to make a remarkable arc in his character. “So I really want to make him as human as possible. And Iâm sure maraming makaka-identify sa kanya,â the A-list actor explained.
