Taiwan Extends Visa-Free Entry for Filipino Passport Holders

TAIWAN – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) in the country announced that it extends its trial visa-free entry for Filipinos with passport.

However, truth be told that not all countries are easy to enter. There are those with long lists of requirements which include travel visa — which may not be easy to be granted with. There are strict regulations implemented by a lot of countries. Meanwhile, there are also visa-free countries for Philippines and Taiwan is one of those on a trial visa-free entry for Filipinos.

The trial visa-free entry of Taiwan for Filipinos is supposed to end this August 1, 2024. The foreign country also implements the same trial visa-free entry for the citizens of Brunei and Thailand.

Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, Taiwan’s Foreign Ministry of Affairs (MOFA) met with the government agencies of the state-island. Based on the article, they come up with a decision to extend the trial visa-free entry for Filipinos from August 1, 2024 to July 31, 2025.

Aside from the Philippine nationals, the same visa-free entry extension for one year is up for the nationals of Brunei and Thailand as per the statement released by MOFA.

“After evaluating the effectiveness of the above measures over the past years, participating agencies decided to extend the trial visa-free entry program for one year for nationals of Thailand, Brunei, and the Philippines from August 1, 2024, to July 31, 2025”
