SB19 members talked about their new track with Apl.de.Ap

P-Pop pioneers SB19 shared their thoughts on working with award-winning rapper Apl.de.Ap for the new track Ready.

The P-Pop Kings continue to reach new heights in their career in the music industry not just in the Philippines but in the global scene. After releasing the song Moonlight, their collaboration project with Chinese producer Terry Zhong and US-based producer Ian Asher last May 3, the quintet has recently released their new track with one of the founding members of the hip-hop group Black Eyed Peas.

Apl.de.Ap was one of the special guests who performed with the group during their Pagtatag Finale concert. They teased their song collaboration which garnered excitement from the group’s fandom, A’TIN.

At midnight on Friday, May 31, Ready was officially released. Based on the article in Inquirer, the track was produced by Keith Harris, who has been collaborating with Black Eye Peas for a long time now.

Apl.de.Ap, along with Jean-Baptiste, Vince Nantes, and Denzel were credited on the song’s lyrics. Radkidz, SB19 Pablo’s duo with his brother Josue, also contributed to the track.

In a press release, the P-Pop group’s youngest member Justin de Dios said that this project with the internationally acclaimed rapper is a big honor for them.

We never got the chance to record together in a single booth, but Apl.de.Ap was such a great guy to work with. It’s an honor to collaborate with a global superstar of his caliber. We’ve learned so much from his generosity and creative feedback,” Justin said.

For Stell Ajero, tagged as the Heavenly Voice of the group, this collaboration let them explore a new genre and it is a blessing for them to have this kind of opportunity.

“It was something new for the group. We appreciate the chance to delve into new genres and production styles that come with unfamiliar territory. But with Apl.de.Ap at the helm of the creative process, we’re just blessed to take on this assignment. It’s not every day that you get to work with an artist you look up to,” the The Voice Kids coach said.
