Ricci Paolo Uy Rivero is a Filipino professional basketball player and actor, known for his dynamic playing style and significant contributions to Philippine basketball. Born on May 25, 1998, in Ilagan, Isabela, Philippines, Ricci grew up in a family with a strong basketball background. He is the younger brother of Prince Rivero, also a notable basketball player.
Ricci Rivero attended La Salle Green Hills for his high school education, where he honed his basketball skills and emerged as one of the top high school players in the country. His performances in various high school tournaments earned him a spot in the De La Salle University (DLSU) Green Archers’ roster.
Rivero began his collegiate basketball career with the DLSU Green Archers in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP). During his time with La Salle, he quickly became one of the league’s most exciting and promising players. He was known for his agility, scoring ability, and defensive prowess. In Season 80 of the UAAP, Rivero was named to the Mythical Five, underscoring his impact on the court.
However, after two seasons with La Salle, Ricci Rivero made a high-profile move to the University of the Philippines (UP) Fighting Maroons. His transfer was met with much anticipation and excitement. Rivero continued to display his basketball talents at UP, further establishing his reputation as one of the top players in collegiate basketball.
