Savannah Gankiewicz Takes Over as Miss USA 2023 Following Noelia Voigt’s Resignation

Miss USA 2023 – Former Mutya ng Pilipinas candidate Savannah Gankiewicz took over as Miss USA 2023 following Noelia Voigt’s resignation.

Savannah Gankiewicz, a former contestant in Mutya ng Pilipinas, has been crowned the Miss USA 2023 title following Noelia Voigt’s decision to step down from her position.

The Miss USA organization revealed that the Filipino-American beauty queen will receive her crown in Hawaii on May 15th. “We are proud to crown Savannah Miss USA 2023. A true representation of vision, intelligence, and compassion,” Miss USA Organization Chief Executive Officer and President Laylah Rose said in the statement.

“Her dedication to empowering women through self-love and confidence is inspiring, and we look forward to her impactful reign as Miss USA,” she added.

Savannah Gankiewicz secured the first runner-up position to Noelia during the Miss USA pageant held in September last year.

On her Instagram profile, Savannah expressed her gratitude for receiving the crown and acknowledged her supporters, family, friends, and the people of Hawaii.

“Please know that my decision to accept the Miss USA crown was not one that was made lightly. I stand with Noelia, it was the honor of a lifetime to share the stage with you during your crowning moment and I wish you all the best in your next chapter,” she said.

Savannah, whose mother hails from Maui and is of Filipino heritage, participated in the 2017 Mutya ng Pilipinas competition, where she achieved finalist status and was bestowed with the title of Mutya ng Pilipinas Overseas Filipino Communities, representing the Filipino-Hawaiian community. Following the pageant, she resided in the Philippines for more than a year, pursuing a career as a model.

Noelia stepped down from her position as Miss USA on May 7th.

“I strongly value the importance of making a decision that feel best for you and your mental health. As individuals, we grow through experiencing different things in life that lead us to learning more about ourselves,” Noelia penned on IG.
