Tom Rodriguez Talks About His Three Comeback Projects

Tom Rodriguez is excited about his upcoming projects

Kapuso actor Tom Rodriguez talked about his three comeback projects after his two-year showbiz hiatus.

Tom decided to take a break from showbiz after his breakup with actress Carla Abellana in 2022. He went to the States and stayed with his family there. From time to time, he would have some shows in the US.

This year, he officially returned to showbiz and based on the article in Inquirer, Tom is set to have three acting projects for his comeback.

The first one is an episode of the Kapuso drama anthology Magpakailanman. Tom Rodriguez said that he is here to stay and he has started filming for the said show.

“I began working on an episode for ‘Magpakailanman.’ Just like in that show, I trust everyone I’m with. I’m willing to throw myself into work again and ride that wave,” the actor said.

Tom will also do a romantic-drama movie directed by veteran filmmaker Joel Lamangan. He said that he accepted the Huwag Mo Kong Iwan movie project because it would be directed by Direk Joel.

They worked together in the movie The Significant Other in 2018. Tom said that it was his favorite movie that he did. This is the reason why it was a no-brainer when he said yes to this new project with Direk Joel.

“That’s why saying ‘yes’ to this one was a no-brainer, especially when I read the script. It’s so beautiful. It attempts to subvert the typical expectations in terms of where the story goes. I think the audience will be more surprised when they finally see the actual movie,” the Kapuso actor said.

Tom Rodriguez will also star in a Kapuso-produced TV program. Aside from these, he will also play the character of Crisostomo Ibarra in the restaging of Tanghalang Una Obra’s musical “Ibarra.”
