Bamban Mayor Alice Guo is the new “My Amnesia Girl”?
ALICE GUO – The female mayor of Bamban is currently under hot waters and people online call her “My Amnesia Girl”.
“Your honor, hindi ko po alam.”
“Hindi ko na po maalala, Your Honor.”
These are the frequent answers of the Mayor Of Bamban, Tarlac Alice Leal Guo, a controversial personality whose origin remains questionable. She is also being accused to have links with Philippine offshore gaming operators (POGOs) operations but she already denied this. This is an illegal Chinese gambling site in Tarlac’s southernmost town.
Two congressmen aired their concern on Monday regarding her identity. House Assistant Majority Leader and AKO Bicol party-list Rep. Raul Angelo “Jil” Bongalon said that this is “very serious” and “very alarming” considering how an alleged Chinese national was able to register herself 17 years after she was born.
House Assistant Majority Leader and La Union First District Rep. Francisco Paolo Ortega expressed that Guo’s background is “shady”.
If proven by the court that she is not a Filipino citizen, she may face perjury case. Based on the submitted copy of the certificate of candidacy of Bamban mayor, she registered as a voter in 2021 and won the elections in 2022.
It also stated that she is living in the Philippines for 35 years and two months and has been residing in Bamban for more than 18 years. In her Statement of Contributions and Expenditures (SOCE), she declared a total of Php 134,693.80 for her mayoralty bid. During her bid, as reflected in her SOCE, she did not receive any contributions from other sources.
Her rise in the political arena without any political background raised questions.
Her answers in the Senate during questioning became viral and some people online now call her the new “My Amnesia Girl”. Based on her answers, she seemed to have already forgotten most of her childhood memories.
She also has no school records, no memory of her educational institution, no records of her mother, contradictory statements about her father, and among other issues. …
Here are some comments:
