Batangas Governor & Wife Signed Pre-Nuptial Agreement
BATANGAS GOVERNOR – Newly-wed Batangas Gov. Hermilando Mandanas explained the decision to have a pre-nup with his lawyer wife, Atty. Angelica Chua.
The wedding of Batangas Gov. Hermilando “Dodo” Mandanas and his now wife, Atty. Angelica Chua-Mandanas, undeniably caught the attention of many Filipinos. The elephant in the room was addressed by the couple that it is because of the age gap.
Gov. Mandanas is 80 years old and his wife is younger for 48 years than him. In an interview with ABS-CBN News, the lawyer even shared that he was able to attend her 7th birthday as he was in a gubernatorial stint then and her mother was the head of the legal prosecutor’s office.
The couple had a church wedding and it was livestreamed for the people most especially the Batangueños who want to witness the wedding of their governor. The reception was held in front the provincial capitol.
Atty. Angelica Chua-Mandanas revealed that they initially planned just having up to 150 guests. However, a friend of the Governor advised them that a timid celebration may only lead to the people taking their age gap negatively as it would appear to have been hidden.
Visibly, their love for each other conquered the challenges of what people may say. The Governor and his wife exchanged sweet vows at their wedding.
At an interview with the press, the Batangas Governor and his wife confirmed that they signed a pre-nuptial agreement. When asked about the reason behind the decision to have a deal, the Governor stressed that they want to set it clear on how the goods will be taken cared of.
The lawyer jested that she is protecting herself. The Governor also expressed that his wife is a partner at a firm and her family is richer than his family. She expressed that she also own properties.
During the interview, the new wife of the Governor was asked about the contents of the pre-nuptial agreement. According to her, it stated that his properties prior to the wedding belong to him and her properties belong to her. Those assets that they will acquire after the wedding are the things that will be considered conjugal.
With regards to his age, the Batangas Governor stressed that he goes on a regular check-up and most of his family members live long. He stressed that he has never been in a surgery more than once and he has never stayed overnight at a hospital unless for his medical check-up. Meanwhile, he believes that the fate of how long one will live depends on God.
