Education Graduate Shares Struggles About Pressure She Feels From Family
A female education graduate has shared her struggles regarding the pressure she feels from her own family and relatives.
Recently, Khastria Ruezel Sevilla Caballe, a Facebook user, shared the pressure she faces alongside her studies, especially when juggling multiple tasks, projects, and school requirements for her course or subjects.
Sevilla thought that the pressure would ease after finishing her studies. She graduated cum laude, but the next pressure was finding a job. Her sentiment garnered various reactions from the online community.
Even with honors, it wasn’t easy for Sevilla to find work. She ended up in a profession that didn’t match her degree, teaching, which helped with daily expenses and supported her parents.
What’s even more pressuring, according to her, are relatives constantly questioning why she’s not teaching. She said it’s repeatedly brought up and “thrown” at her.
One reason why she hasn’t taken the Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET) yet is the pressure of possibly not passing despite being a cum laude graduate.
Sevilla’s pressure also came from doubts cast by her own relatives about whether she can handle it and finish her studies. It’s even harder for her whether she should still take the board exams or not. The young lady started to doubt herself again if she made the right choice.
“Ito yung isang dahilan kung bakit ayaw ko kumuha ng board exam last march 2024. I don’t want to feel humiliated, lalo na at nakatapos ako ng may daladala sa pangalangan ko. Paano kung hindi ako makapasa sa first take ko? Ano na lang sasabihin nila. Cum Laude pero hindi pumasa sa first take. Ito ikinakatakot ko. Cause I don’t see myself na matalino. Isa lamang po akong normal na estudyante noon,” she wrote.
Many netizens were moved by her post. Some related to Sevilla’s situation, while others advised not to worry about others’ pressures, whether from relatives, family, or friends. Meanwhile, Sevilla thanked everyone for the kind messages and words of encouragement.
Khastria decided to make her profession private, according to her.
