A foreign national earns admiration online for flying straight to the Philippines to surprise his Pinay girlfriend on her graduation day.
Recently, Lalang Julwen Ignacio, a Facebook user, shared a video of her Australian boyfriend, James, who surprised her during her graduation day. The post immediately spread like wildfire on social media and elicited reactions from netizens.
In the video, James, flew to the Philippines to surprise Julwen on her graduation day at the Capitol University in Cagayan De Oro City on July 20, 2023. After patiently waiting for Lalang to complete her studies for five years, James made sure her special day was even more memorable.
“He waited for me for five years para makatapos ako and when he found out na ga-graduate ako, he flew straight to the Philippines to attend my graduation ceremony po,” Ignacio said.
Not only did James attend the graduation ceremony, but he also had a secret gift prepared for Lalang. Imagine her astonishment when she saw James holding a money bouquet and a money sash as she walked up to the stage.
“I had no idea about the preparation of his surprise. After I went up to the stage, pagkaupo ko nakita ko na siya na may hawak na money bouquet and money sash tapos nagtitilian ‘yung mga tao sa likod na sana all,” she added.

Though a little nervous with all the attention, the young woman was overjoyed in that moment of magic.
