Survey Reveals Raffy Tulfo & Sara Duterte as Top Contenders for 2028 Presidential Race
TULFO – Survey reveals Sen. Raffy Tulfo and Vice President Sara Duterte as leading contenders for the 2028 presidential race.
According to a recent survey by Pulse Asia, Senator Raffy Tulfo and Vice President Sara Duterte are virtually tied as potential presidential candidates for the 2028 elections. The survey, conducted from March 6 to 10, indicated that Tulfo holds a slight lead over Duterte, with 35 percent of support compared to her 34 percent, a difference within the survey’s margin of error.
Following closely behind are former vice president Leni Robredo at 11 percent, Senator Imee Marcos at five percent, Senator Robin Padilla at two percent, Senator Risa Hontiveros at one percent, and Speaker Martin Romualdez with less than one percent of support.
In a separate poll focusing on preferences for vice president, Senator Grace Poe emerged on top with 35 percent, trailed by Senator Marcos at 16 percent, former senator Manny Pacquiao and Senator Robin Padilla at 14 percent, Senate President Juan Miguel Zubiri at seven percent, Defense Secretary Gilbert Teodoro at four percent, and Romualdez at one percent.
Other individuals mentioned as potential vice presidential candidates include Tulfo, Senator Bong Go, Hontiveros, former senator Francis Pangilinan, Vice President Duterte, her brother Davao City Mayor Sebastian Duterte, and their father, former president Rodrigo Duterte.
According to the report, Pulse Asia has yet to issue an official statement regarding the survey results, but their earlier release stated that the survey had 1,200 respondents with a margin of error of plus/minus 2.8 percent at a 95 percent confidence level.
Senate President Zubiri clarified that he has no plans to seek public office in 2028, expressing gratitude to Pulse Asia for including him in their last survey for the next vice presidential race. He affirmed his commitment to dedicating his remaining four years of public service to enacting meaningful legislation for the betterment of every Filipino.
“However, to dispel any rumors that may arise, I would like to make it clear that I will not be running for any public office in 2028 and I am, in fact, contemplating my retirement from almost 30 years of politics,” Zubiri said.
Zubiri thanked “my kababayans from Mindanao and the Visayas for their support, making up 14 percent and 8 percent of my Pulse Asia numbers, respectively.”
