The new series of Marian Rivera did well!
MARIAN RIVERA – The Kapuso superstar is back with a new primetime series and it did fairly well in rating on its first night.
GMA Primetime Queen Marian Rivera had a triumphant return to primetime as “My Guardian Alien” premiered on Monday, April 1. She is playing the role of Katherine, wife of Carlos (Gabby Concepcion) and mother to Doy (Raphael Landicho).
The other stars of this new Kapuso series are Max Collins, Gabby Eigenmann, Kiray Celis, Marissa Delgado, Arnold Teves, Caitlyn Stave, and Josh Ford. The series airs weeknights on GMA Prime at 8:50 p.m. after “Black Rider”.
The pilot episode of the Kapuso Primetime Queen’s did fare well in terms of ratings. On its first night, it looked like many people missed her on television as it gained 11.1% rating which is a couple of points away from its rival Linlang which gained 9.4%.
During the airing of the series, the actress is also trending on social media.
About the series
The actress shares that she doesn’t believe in aliens but because of how beautifully written the story is, she was starting to change minds already. She said about her alien character, “Ang ganda naman kasi ng kuwento. Kung totoong may ganitong klase ng alien sa buhay ng mundo ng tao, parang ang sarap niyang maging kaibigan.”
The role in this series will certainly become memorable. Marian has a lot of iconic TV roles and this alien role is going to be an addition for sure.
Before this new series, Marian starred in the movie “Rewind” with her husband Dingdong Dantes. This film received success and became the highest-grossing Filipino of all time. It follows the story of a married couple whose marriage is on the rocks. A tragedy has happened and they were taken in a time loop.
