In a recent interview, based on the article in The Philippine Star, Herlene was asked about the alleged “lutuan” in pageants. There were issues in pageants that allegedly the organizers would choose prior to the coronation who would win.

Herlene Budol said that she does not believe that there is a pre-determined winner in pageant. “Sa akin, nakakailang pageant na din po ako, wala po sigurong lutuan. Nasa destiny din ng babae, nasa sipag, tiyaga at determinadong tao ‘yung deserving,” she said.

The actress also shared her thoughts on the decision of the Miss Universe Organization to take the age limit. Herlene said that this is good because this shows the importance of equality.

“Siguro pinatunayan lang ng Miss Universe ang pantay-pantay na pagtingin sa bawat tao. So kung sila agree po doon, agree din po ako,” she said.

Right now, Herlene is focused on her acting career. She is now part of the Kapuso primetime series Black Rider. However, the actress said that she is not closing her doors to pageant but for now, acting is her priority.

Meanwhile, Herlene Budol shared how she recovered from the “kain” issue with her Magandang Dilag leading man Rob Gomez. The actress was accused of being the third party in Rob’s breakup with his former partner Shaila Rebortera.
