Sharon Cuneta talked about being a single mother
Megastar Sharon Cuneta hinted at no child support from her ex-husband Gabby Concepcion for their daughter KC Concepcion.
Sharon and Gabby became a couple in real life from being love team partners back in the 80s. Their relationship was blessed with a daughter but they separated two years after their wedding.
Both of them re-married and had other children with their respective partners. Last year, Sharon and Gabby had their series of reunion concerts.
In a recent interview for InLife’s (Insular Life) Women’s Month special for the fifth anniversary of its “Sheroes” campaign in Peninsula Manila Hotel, Makati City, based on the article in The Philippines Star, Sharon Cuneta expressed admiration for women, especially single moms.
She also shared her journey as a single mom to KC. The Megastar said that people thought she got help from her parents, the late Pasay City mayor Pablo Cuneta and his wife Elaine Gamboa-Cuneta, raising her daughter.
Sharon said that she was the breadwinner. “Wala namang tumutulong sa’kin. Kahit isang lata ng gatas, ako lang naman talaga, walang nagbibigay, except my mom and dad, but it would be gifts, not necessities, you know?” she stressed.
The actress-singer said that her parents wanted to help but she insisted on being independent. She decided to leave their home because if she stayed there, she would not learn and she would have nothing to teach her daughter.
“I wanted KC to grow up knowing how to fend for herself, and she did that. So that at least, I’m proud of na sinunod n’ya,” Sharon Cuneta said.
Meanwhile, the Megastar also addressed the issue she had with her husband former Senator Kiko Pangilinan in a recent interview, including the “pugot ulo” post that she shared. To recall, Sharon admitted that she and Kiko broke up but they immediately got back together.
