Cristy Fermin talked about the case filed by the mother of Sarah Lahbati
Esther Lahbati, the mother of actress Sarah Lahbati filed cyber libel cases against veteran showbiz columnist Cristy Fermin and her co-hosts Romel Chika and Wendell Alvarez.
To recall, it was reported early this March that Sarah’s parents posed for a photo in front of the Department of Justice (DOJ) building. Esther wrote in the caption of her post that finally they were able to visit the said agency.
With this, speculations surfaced that they filed a case against their estranged son-in-law actor Richard Gutierrez, regarding the custody of Sarah’s sons. Some also speculated that the case would be against Richard’s mom Annabelle Rama.
In a recent episode of Cristy Fermin’s showbiz talk show, based on the article in Bandera, she confirmed that the mother of Sarah Lahbati filed a case against her and her co-hosts Romel and Wendell.
Cristy mentioned that Richard and Sarah are not yet legally separated so it was not right when the actress said, “I am single.”
Then, the veteran showbiz columnist said that since it was Esther who first hinted at their visit in DOJ, she is now confirming that a case was filed against them. “Kami pong tatlo ang kinasuhan ng cyber libel at hindi na po kami magdedetalye kasi ang mga abogado po namin ang nakakaalam ng mga detalyeng ito,” Cristy shared.
The columnist also shared that she and Esther were already able to meet in Quezon City. Then, she told the viewers to stop speculating that the case would be against Richard Gutierrez.
Cristy also shared that Sarah’s mom agreed to move the first schedule meeting because she has a radio program. “Marespeto at nakakatunaw at ang ganda-ganda kasi ng ating pagduduop,” she said.
The veteran showbiz columnist also thanked Annabelle Rama and Eddie Gutierrez for not leaving her amid this issue.
