Kylie Verzosa paid tribute to Jaclyn Jose
Actress Kylie Verzosa recalled her experience working with the late award-winning actress Jaclyn Jose.
Kylie had the chance to work with Jaclyn in the movie The Housemaid. It was a 2021 movie under Viva Films. Through this movie, Kylie got her Best Actress Award at the 2022 Distinctive International Arab Festivals Award (DIAFA) in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
In a recent interview, based on the article in Manila Bulletin, Kylie said that she attributed that recognition to the help she got from Jaclyn and other co-stars.
Kylie Verzosa expressed sadness after learning that Jaclyn Jose had passed away. On March 3, Jaclyn’s daughter Andi Eigenmann confirmed the death of the seasoned actress on the morning of March 2 due to a heart attack.
“When I learned the news, sobrang sad ako. Dahil sa kanya, aside from my other co-actors like Albert Martinez, I would like to dedicate my first best actress award to them. Kung wala sila siguro, hindi ako ganun ka-motivated sa film,” Kylie said.
She also shared that Jaclyn really saw her through the whole process of making the movie. The seasoned actress also challenged Kylie to make her feel better and give her instructions.
The former beauty queen also shared that they did this movie during the pandemic and being with Jaclyn made her happy. She added that at that time, she was just new to acting and this was her first leading role.
Kylie Verzosa also shared what Jaclyn Jose told her during their shoot. “But there’s one thing Jaclyn told her that inspired her to continue making movies,” she said.
“Pero ang pinaka-memorable na sinabi niya sa akin is ‘may future ka.’ Sa huli na niya sinabi yun. After 14 days, parang yun ang gusto kong marinig sa kanya. And, ‘Oh my God! Nakuha ko!‘” she added.
