JACLYN JOSE DEAD – Veteran actor Gardo Versoza posted a tribute to his late co-star Jacklyn Jose.

Jaclyn Jose, originally named Mary Jane Santa Ana Guck, was a celebrated actress in both dramatic films and television, boasting numerous acting accolades. Notably, she made history as the first Filipino and Southeast Asian to clinch the Best Actress award at the Cannes Film Festival for her compelling portrayal of a matriarch and meth dealer in Brillante Mendoza’s Ma’ Rosa.

She also earned three Gawad Urian Best Actress nominations for her exceptional performances in Takaw Tukso (1987), Itanong Mo Sa Buwan (1989), and Sarong Banggi (2006).

Commencing her acting career in 1984 with William Pascual’s Chicas and Chito Roño’s Private Show, Jaclyn Jose went on to star in critically acclaimed films such as The Flor Contemplacion Story, Patay na si Hesus, and Kalel, 15. She also made notable appearances in television shows like Maalaala Mo Kaya, Valiente, and Marimar. Her final role was as Chief Dolores Espinas in the series FPJ’s Batang Quiapo.

On Sunday evening, March 3, several media outlets reported the sad news of Jaclyn’s passing at the age of 59. PPL Entertainment Incorporated, her talent agency, officially announced her death through a social media post.

Gardo Versoza is one of the celebrities mourning the loss of the veteran actress Jaclyn Jose. In response to the saddening announcement, Gardo used his Instagram account to post a reel featuring pictures capturing some of his cherished moments with Jaclyn.

Accompanying the brief video, the actor expressed his emotions with a short yet affectionate message dedicated to the late actress, referring to her as “Abe.” Gardo’s caption simply reads, “Labyu abe.”
