Asia’s Multimedia Star Alden Richards expressed sadness after learning about the death of award-winning actress Jaclyn Jose.
Jaclyn died on March 2 and this was confirmed by her management, PPL Entertainment Inc. on March 3. Messages of grief and condolences rained on social media. Many netizens also expressed their heartfelt messages for actress Andi Eigenmann, the daughter of Jaclyn.
Celebrities who worked with Jaclyn in the past and recent projects also expressed their sadness on social media. One of the celebrities who paid tribute to the award-winning actress was Alden.
The Kapuso actor shared a throwback photo with the seasoned actress on his Instagram page. His caption was simple but filled with emotion. “My heart aches like a son who lost his mom… You will be with me always. I love you my tita Jane,” Alden Richards wrote in the caption of his post.
May fans of Alden recalled the projects he had with the late actress. “Mundo Mo’y Akin days,” Instagram user @iamsuperpau commented. Alden and Jaclyn worked together in the 2013 Kapuso series Mundo Mo’y Akin.
In 2014, they also had another chance to share the same frame in the period series Ilustrado. This was followed by the primetime drama series The World Between Us in 2021.
On X, formerly known as Twitter, many fans of Alden Richards also recalled the bond he had with Jaclyn Jose. A netizen shared a throwback video in which the late actress expressed admiration for the Kapuso actor.
In the video, seasoned actor Ricky Davao was asked who among the younger actors caught his attention because of his talent. It can be heard in the background that Jaclyn mentioned Alden. Ricky agreed with this because he watched the movie Hello, Love, Goodbye.
Then, Jaclyn said, “matagal ng magaling si Alden.” One of the reporters joked that someone was boosting Alden and Jaclyn said that he worked with the Kapuso actor many times and she can really say that he is good.
