Jamie Malonzo “Binugbog” Inside Fast Food Chain in BGC Caught on Camera
Gilas Pilipinas player Jamie Malonzo “binugbog” by an unknown individual inside a fast food chain in Bonifacio Global Center (BGC).
Gilas Pilipinas wingman Jamie Malonzo has become the center of attention following a viral video depicting him engaged in a heated altercation that escalated into a brawl inside a fast-food establishment. The incident occurred at a KFC outlet in BGC just hours before Gilas Pilipinas’ scheduled game against Chinese-Taipei.
Minutes before the FIBA Asia Cup 2025 Qualifiers game, a video surfaced on social media capturing Ginebra’s 6-foot-5 winger involved in a physical altercation at the said restaurant. The report of Tiebreaker Times confirmed Malonzo’s involvement in the altercation.
Report indicate that Malonzo was involved in a confrontation with a mixed martial artist. According to various sources close to the situation, Malonzo opted out of the qualifiers game citing a stomach ache.
After Gilas checked in at the Marco Polo Hotel in Ortigas, Malonzo allegedly made excuses and proceeded to BGC to have drinks at Dr. Wine before the incident occurred at the fast-food establishment.
Allegedly intoxicated upon entering the KFC branch, Malonzo was reportedly approached by the assailant, who engaged in intimidation, resulting in Malonzo sustaining a severe blow to the face. In the video footage, Malonzo, appearing disoriented, endured a series of punches from a smaller individual before being struck in the head.
Malonzo admitted to being the individual depicted in the viral video and has since issued apologies to the Philippine Basketball Association and the public for the incident. Following Gilas’ victory, head coach Tim Cone revealed that Malonzo, along with Justin Brownlee, fell ill shortly after Gilas’ road game against Hong Kong.
Meanwhile, Malonzo is reportedly considering legal action against the individual who assaulted him inside the fast-food restaurant. However, the identity of the assailant remains undisclosed, although it was mentioned that the perpetrator was a close acquaintance of a basketball player.
