Carla Abellana Responds To Rumors She Died
CARLA ABELLANA – Kapuso actress and model Carla Abellana falls victim to death hoax.
The internet and social media platforms serve as powerful channels for the rapid dissemination of rumors, allowing false information to quickly gain attention and become viral. A death hoax involves the intentional spread of misinformation about someone’s demise, which is later proven to be false.
In some rare instances, individuals may purposely fake their own death. Almost daily, new rumors emerge regarding the premature death of celebrities, and it has become increasingly effortless for such fake news to gain widespread attention.
The prevalence of unverified posts or comments on social media poses a significant risk, as even a single instance can be shared widely and accepted as truth by millions. Celebrity death hoaxes are not a recent phenomenon.
While the digital age has seen a surge in death hoaxes due to the ease of spreading information online, the phenomenon itself has been present for decades.
Carla Abellana caused a stir on social media when she responded to an online announcement falsely declaring her untimely ‘death.’ On February 19, Monday, Carla shared a screenshot on her Instagram page, @carlaangeline, depicting what appeared to be a Facebook post spreading the news of her supposed passing at the age of 36. Despite the seriousness of the situation, Carla found it funny, as indicated by her caption.
In the caption of her now widely circulated post, Carla expressed her amusement with a laughing-crying emoji and the words “aray ko po.”
The screenshot she provided revealed that an Instagram user also reacted to the Facebook post, dismissing it as a hoax and suggesting legal action against the perpetrator.
According to the Instagram user, “Hoax ito at kailangan niya ng makasuhan… dami nang ginawan ng fake news nitong taong ‘to.”
