Guide on DOST Graduate Scholarship Qualifications for Programs in Science and Technology

Are you looking for a scholarship that can fund your studies for a masteral or doctoral program? In the Philippines, one of the entities that you may turn to is the Department of Science and Technology or more popularly called DOST.
Undeniably, the DOST is one of the most popular scholarship providers in the country. Its offers are also popular for being among those with the biggest allowances and numerous benefit offers.
DOST offers both graduate and undergraduate scholarships. One of the programs that offer graduate scholarships is the Accelerated Science and Technology Human Resource Development Program or also popularly called ASTHRDP.
Through the ASTHRDP, the government agency wants to help the qualified scholars who want to pursue Masteral and Doctoral programs in the prioritized Science and Technology fields.
Who are qualified to apply for the scholarship offer? Here are the DOST Graduate Scholarship qualifications for application:
- a Filipino citizen
- not be more than 50 years old at the time of application
- in good health condition
- passer of the admission requirements for graduate studies at any of the NSC member-universities
- passer of the interview and other screening procedures
The DOST graduate scholarships qualifications do not end there. The offer is also open for PhD graduates in a priority S&T program who want to pursue a second PhD degree. It is also open for MS/PhD non-scholar graduate who want to pursue a second MS/PhD degree
To qualify, the scholar must not be employed or practicing his/her profession while on scholarship. Thus, he/she must get an approval for official leave of absence if the scholar is working.
The scholarship offers is not open for PhD graduates who want to pursue another MS degree program and MS graduate in a priority S&T program who want to pursue a second MS degree.
After the completion of the MS or PhD degree, the scholar is bound to render one year service in the Philippines for every year of being a scholar. The scholar must execute a Scholarship Agreement with the DOST-SEI and the Training Institution.
