Boy Abunda Shares What His GMA Contract Renewal Means

Boy Abunda remains as a Kapuso

King of Talk Boy Abunda shared what his contract renewal with GMA means as he decided to continue his ties with the Kapuso network.

Boy has been with ABS-CBN for a long time and with his stints in the Kapamilya network, he earned the King of Talk moniker with his successful talk shows. However, before becoming a Kapamilya, Boy started his career in the entertainment industry in GMA.

In December 2022, he decided to return to the Kapuso network. He officially signed a contract with GMA after weeks of speculations about his network transfer.

On February 12, Boy Abunda renewed his contract with GMA. During the contract signing event, he thanked the Kapuso executives. He also said that this means the network continues to trust him, based on the article in GMA Entertainment.

“Ito’y nangangahulugan na patuloy ang tiwala at suporta. Nagpapasalamat ako sa pagkakataong ibinigay sa akin na bumalik sa GMA,” the King of Talk said.

The veteran TV host also talked about his afternoon talk show and the people behind it who have been doing their best to run the program.

“It takes a village to be able to do a 20-minute talk show. I do this with a community of committed people, and I will continue to do the show in gratitude and in love,” Boy shared.

GMA Network Chairman Atty Felipe L Gozon said that he saw how other celebrities would show respect to the acclaimed talk show host. For GMA Network President and CEO Gilberto Duavit Jr., the ratings proved that Boy Abunda deserves that spot where he is now.

Senior Vice President Atty. Annette Gozon-Valdez noted that the interviews done by the King of Talk make the celebrities closer to the people and she likes how the host would bring out things about the celebrities not known to many.
