Viral Grandma Anicia Santos Manipo Passes Away at 97
VIRAL LOLA – A lovely grandma who was known for her viral caregiver grandson has passed away at the age of 97.
On Monday (January 29, 2024), the grandmother named Anicia Santos Manipon who captured the hearts of many on social media due to the loving care provided by her Fil-Am grandson peacefully passed away.
Back in 2015, Manipon went viral after her grandson, Chris Punsalan, shared glimpses of their life through vlogs on various social media platforms. Chris devoted himself to taking care of his grandmother full-time for several years.
Their everyday activities, shared on YouTube and TikTok, quickly went viral, touching the hearts of numerous social media users.
On Tuesday (January 30, 2024), Punsalan made the sad announcement on Facebook saying “My heart is broken. Grandma fought so hard and lived such a fruitful life. I’m relieved that she can finally rest and she’s in better hands than we could’ve ever provided. I love you forever grandma.”
Chris who originally came from Pampanga shared that her Lola Anicial took care of him and he would hate to see her go to home care. He decided to step back and became her full-time caregiver.
The viral caregiver explained that being a full-time caregiver to the elderly is not just physically demanding but emotionally challenging as well. However, he does it with joy and love.
Punsalan admitted it was tough to witness his 97-year-old grandmother’s declining health. He considered the opportunity to care for his grandmother as a blessing.

“It’s brought me and my grandmother closer than I could have ever imagined. Obviously, I was always close to my grandma growing up, and you know, she took care of me… But I think being her full-time caregiver, it has brought me closer to her, and I feel like I understand her better than I ever have before,” Chris added.
