Is Iza Calzado open to the possibility of joining Miss Universe pageant?
Actress Iza Calzado has this answer if she thought of joining the Miss Universe pageant now that the age limit policy was removed.
The pageant has indeed evolved over the years. Previously, the most prestigious pageant in the world only allowed naturally born women but in recent years, transwomen were already allowed to join.
Another change is that married women and mothers can join the pageant. The most recent addition to the new rules is that there will be no age limit.
In a recent interview, Iza Calzado was asked if it crossed her mind to be on a pageant stage. She is aware of the changes implemented in Miss Universe, based on that article in Inquirer.
However, the actress said that this kind of endeavor is not for her and she is happy where she is now. “But really, I’m fine where I am right now. I’m a mom, and with the platform that God has given me, I’m already content and happy,” she said.
Iza is married to Ben Wintle and in January last year, they welcomed their first baby. Althiough there were struggles during the first days after she gave birth, she is a hppy mom.
The actress received comments that with her beauty and brain qualities, she would do a great job. Then, she jokingly said, “Also with stretchmarks and everything else, well …”
Iza stressed she knows how hard it is to handle the pressure that comes along with it. “I really don’t want to subject myself to something like that because I’m sure the experience would be so nerve-wracking. It would be a new and different kind of pressure for me,” the actress said.
She also said that this was not for her and added, ” I’ve already done ‘Beauty Queen!’” Iza Calzado did a Kapuso series titled Beauty Queen with actress Katrina Halili and former beauty queen Maggie Wilson back in 2010.
