Coca Nicolas spoke about Pepsi Paloma

Former sultry actress Coca Nicolas revealed the “truth” in the case filed by the late Pepsi Paloma against comedians Vic Sotto, Joey de Leon, and Ritchie D’Horsie.

Coca and Paloma were known as the “Softdrink Beauties” together with Sarsi Emmanuelle and they gained popularity in the 1980s. They were among the popular stars of Pinoy sultry movies that were a trend at that time.

Because of Pepsi, Vic, Joey, and Ritchie became controversial. She accused the three comedians of raping her.

Decades after that controversy surfaced, people are still talking about what was supposed to have happened. To recall, back in 2018, reports surfaced that Tito Sotto, who was then the Senate President, requested the removal of articles about Pepsi Paloma in Inquirer. The articles reportedly were unavailable after he requested them to be deleted.

Regarding this issue, there had been a lingering theory that Eraserhead’s ‘Spolarium’ song was about Pepsi, Vic, Tito, and Richie. However, the band’s vocalist Ely Buendia clarified that the song has nothing to do with with the issue.

In a recent interview that Julius Babao had with Coca Nicolas, based on the article in The Philippine Star, the former sultry actress was asked about what happened to the rape case filed by Pepsi Paloma against the three comedians.

Coca said that it was just for gimmick which was initiated by their manager. “Hindi, alam mo naman si Tito Rey. Parang hindi ka naman naano diyan kay tito. Lahat gagawin niyan para sumikat tayo,” she said.

The former Sultry actress stressed that she, herself proved that the case was just made up. Coca also shared that Pepsi had been telling her that she wanted to rest. They used to live together in the same house.

“Lagi niyang sinasabi na parang gusto niya nang mamahinga. Ang sabi ko, ‘Bakit naman?’ Pagod na raw siya,” Coca shared.
