Guide in Obtaining DOLE Certification for SSS Unemployment Benefit 2024
DOLE CERTIFICATION – Here is a guide on how you can obtain the certification for the filing of the SSS Unemployment Benefit 2024.
In the Philippines, one of the major advantages of being a member of the Social Security System is that you have a turn to during the most financially-challenging times like the circumstances of sickness, unemployment, disability, and even death. Millions of Filipinos are members of the said state-run social insurance institution.
One of the benefits offered by the SSS or the Social Security System is the SSS Unemployment Benefit. It was designed for qualified members who involuntarily lost their job. A member may qualify for the offer unless of the following grounds for termination from service:
- Serious misconduct
- Willful disobedience to lawful orders
- Gross and habitual neglect of duties
- Fraud or willful breach of trust/loss of confidence
- Commission of a crime or offense
- Analogous cases like abandonment, gross inefficiency, disloyalty/ conflict of interest/ dishonesty
In applying for the SSS Unemployment Benefit offer, one of the required documents is the DOLE Certification. You can obtain it from the Department of Labor and Employment.
There are a few documents required in applying for the DOLE Certification for the SSS Unemployment Benefit filing of claim. Here are the requirements in applying for the said document:
- one valid ID
- any of the following documents:
- copy of Notice of Termination of Employment from the employer
- notarized Affidavit of Termination of Employment
- UMID card enrolled as ATM; or
- UBP Bank Card or bank statement/certificate indicating the name of the SSS member, savings account number, bank branch, and bank address
Once you have complied the required documents, you can file your application for certification at any of the following:
- DOLE Field or Provincial Office where the company or employer is based for employees and household workers in the Philippines
- POLO where the employer operates or the DOLE Field or Provincial Office where the overseas Filipino worker (OFW) who lost the job resides for OFWs
