Former child actor Jiro Manio caught the attention of the online community when he sold his Gawad Urian Best Actor trophy to Boy Toyo of Pinoy Pawnstar.
Jiro made a remarkable track in showbiz during the early years of his career. He was considered one of the best child stars of his generation. At a young age, acting critics praised his performances.
In 2004, he got the prestigious Best Actor award from Gawad Urian for the critically acclaimed movie Magnifico.
That was a big acting recognition and a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for an actor like him. However, in a recent episode of Pinoy Pawnstar, Jiro Manio readily let go of that trophy.
In recent years, the former child star struggled in life. He was arrested and detained at the Marikina City Police Station because of being involved in a stabbing incident. Then, he was put in a rehabilitation center.
After his time in rehab, Comedy Concert Queen Ai-Ai delas who was with him in the movie Ang Tanging Ina, expressed happiness for his improvement and she was glad that Jiro remembered the help that she has been extending to him.
