According to rumors, the gross of MMFF 2023 “Rewind” went up twice fold on its second day.
MMFF 2023 – Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes’ film “Rewind” has doubled in earnings on day two of the film festival.
The Filipino family tradition of watching Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) films has returned and the moviegoers filled the cinemas to continue the tradition after a 2-year drought. Among the movies often watched are “Rewind,” “Mallari,” “Penduko,”’ and “Family of Two”.
“Rewind” lead stars Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera were thankful for their supporters who arranged block schedules for their film.
There were also allegations online that the comeback film of DongYan is the top grosser for this year. However, thdis remains uncertain as MMFF spokesperson Noel Ferrer said that the ranking will not be released so as not to influence the choices of the moviegoers.
According to the reliable sources of PEP, “Rewind” has earned Php 68 million on its second day and it is assumed that the increase is due to the word of mouth. However, in the circulating reviews online, the film was applauded for the lessons learned from it.
Many people quipped that the acting of the real-life couple in this film was also on point.
According to Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) chairman and concurrent MMFF chairman Don Artes, the earnings of this year’s MMFF is higher compared to the first day of last year.
Artes said, “This proves that all 10 film entries are quality and impressive. Indeed, the MMFF 2023 is very much alive and the enthusiasm of the moviegoers has returned.”
