MMFF 2023 MOVIES – Here are the films and trailers for this year’s movies of the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF).

This year’s film festival consisted of 10 entries, the first time in several years, so far. It used to be eight entries every year but this year’s a bit different because three entries have tied during the final deliberation.

This year, the selection committee screened a record high of 30 finished film submissions.

Here are the official entries of MMFF 2023 and their respective trailers:

  • “A Mother and Son’s Story” (Cineko Productions)
    starring Sharon Cuneta and Alden Richards and directed by Nuel Naval
  • “(K)Ampon” (Quantum Films)
    starring Derek Ramsay and Beauty Gonzales and directed by King Palisoc
  • “Penduko” (Sari Sari Network)
    starring Matteo Guidicelli and Cristine Reyes and written and directed by Jason Paul Laxamana
  • “Rewind” (Star Cinema, APT Ent., Agosto Dos Media)
    starring Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera and directed by Mae Cruz Alviar
  • “When I Met You in Tokyo” (JG Productions)
    starring Vilma Santos and Christopher de Leon, Tirso Cruz 3rd, Darren Espanto and Cassy Legaspi and directed by Rado Peru and Rommel Penza
  • “Becky and Badette” (The IdeaFirst Company)
    starring Eugene Domingo and Pokwang and written and directed by Jun Robles Lana
  • “Mallari” (Mentorque and Clever Minds Inc.)
    starring Piolo Pascual, JC Santos, Elisse Joson, Janella Salvador, and Gloria Diaz and directed by Derick Cabrido
  • “Firefly” (GMA Pictures and GMA Public Affairs)
    starring Alessandra de Rossi, Miguel Tanfelix, Ysabel Ortega, Epi Quizon, Max Collins, and Dingdong Dantes and directed by Zig Dulay
  • “Broken Hearts Trip” (BMC Films in partnership with Smart Films)
    starring Christian Bables, Andoy Ranay, Teejay Marquez, and Iyah Mina and directed by Lem Lorca
  • “GomBurZa” (JESCOM Films and MQuest Ventures)
    starring Piolo Pascual, Khalil Ramos, Elijah Canlas, and Jaime Fabregas and directed by Pepe Diokno

Meanwhile, the 49th MMFF Parade of Stars is scheduled for Saturday, December 16. The annual parade will pass through four key cities in the CAMANAVA area. It will start in Navotas Centennial Park in Navotas City to Circumferential Road 4 in Malabon City, Samson Road in Caloocan City, Manila Central University, Malabon Zoo, McArthur Highway and the parade will end at Valenzuela City’s People’s Park in Valenzuela City.
