JKN Global Group (JKN) owner Anne Jakrajutatip reportedly faces a lawsuit.
The owner of the Miss Universe Organization Anne Jakrajutatip was demanded to pay 1 billion baht and other additional charges.
The Thai owner of the Miss Universe pageant and JKN Global Group chief executive Anne Jakrajutatip has previously filed for bankruptcy. They would accordingly try to resolve a “liquidity problem”.
She bought the Miss Universe pageant from former US President Donald Trump for $20m and not long after, Anne filed for bankruptcy which shocked many fans.
“Submitting the rehabilitation petition will effectively solve the Company’s liquidity problem under legal mechanism and provide fair protection to all stakeholders,” says a statement.
Following this, it has been reported that JKN is facing a lawsuit filed by the gold-backed cryptocurrency platform TCG Social Media Group. A case has been filed against the company and its chief executive and managing director Jakrajutatip due to criminal offence and defamation through advertising.
Defamation is rooted in the defamatory messages of the defendants versus the plaintiff through social media. This was due to the issue of a false Miss Universe coin (MU Coin) after Jakrajutatip denied any association with it.
To recall, the JKN has published this before:
“To our fans, please use caution and do not join in the falsely–named coin scam! We are doing everything we can to shut this down publicly, so that our company is not victims of this fraud.”
Accordingly, this is contrary to what was stated in the legal document signed by TCG and JKN. Dated June 30, 2023, TCG and JKN signed a document stating MU Coin as their business.
Moreover, a complaint over asset embezzlement was also filed. The documents are now being prepared to be presented to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) “to investigate the company regarding corporate governance, especially layoffs without informing staff in advance”.
A preliminary hearing is reportedly set for December 18.
