Details about the OVP Burial Assistance for Indigent Filipinos
The Office of the Vice President (OVP) provides a Burial Assistance for the families of indigent Filipinos who passed away.
A death of a loved one can be both emotionally and financially draining. While you are in the midst of your grief, if your family is not well in terms of finances, it will be a huge challenge to give the deceased a decent burial. The challenge is more if the person who passed away is not covered by any social insurance institutions in the country.
To help poor families who are caught in this hurtful situation, the Office of the Vice President led by Vice Pres. Sara Duterte-Carpio launched the OVP Burial Assistance. It is open for the family members of the deceased individuals belonging to the indigents and marginalized sector.
Under the OVP Burial Assistance, the family of the deceased individual may receive up to Php 5,000. To file for a claim, there are documents that must be submitted to the Office of the Vice President.
It is also important to abide by the conditions set under each required document as specified by the Office of the Vice President.
It is important to submit a complete set of requirements in applying for the OVP Burial Assistance. The government office clarified on its website that it only processes applications containing a complete set of the required documents in applying for the assistance offer. The application may be processed by an authorized representative.
