PWD Seeks Help Through Church, Touches Hearts with Cardboard Message
SILAY CITY, NEGROS OCCIDENTAL – A PWD man seeks help through a heartfelt message, touching many hearts with his tragic story.
The Facebook page “Radyo Bandera Silay” shared photos of a Person with Disability seeking help through his cardboard message. The post immediately spread like wildfire on social media and elicited reactions from the online community.
In the photos, the PWD man was seen sitting inside a church, earnestly writing on cardboard about his challenging situation and seeking assistance. The disabled guy was identified as Jaypee Amelda, a resident of Barangay Rizal, Silay City in Negros Occidental.
Seated inside the church, Jaypee pours his heart out onto the cardboard, telling his story and reaching out for help. His courage and determination have touched the hearts of the public.
Though Jaypee’s speech may be a bit difficult to understand, his heartfelt words reveal that he experienced an accident in Manila. He underwent surgery, and his brain was affected, making communication a struggle for him.
“Mayong adlaw mam & sir,
Ako si J.P Amelda taga Silay City gapangayo ako bulig bangod sa sitwasyon ko tungod na aksidente ako sa manila na coma ako sa 2 ka bulan. Ang epekto sang aksidente nadula akun tingog,” he wrote.
(Good day, ma’am and sir,
I am J.P. Amelda from Silay City, and I am seeking assistance because of my situation. I had an accident in Manila, and I was in a coma for two months. The accident has affected my voice.)
Amelda expressed gratitude that despite his challenges, his thoughts remained normal, and he even underwent surgery on his throat to enable him to speak. Every day, the PWD man walks around Silay, presenting what he has written and sharing his difficult situation.
His story may serve as a reminder of the strength within individuals facing challenges, as well as the compassion that communities can extend to those in need.
