Family, Relatives of Leila De Lima Await Her Most-Awaited Return to Iriga, Camarines Sur.
Several relatives of former senator Leila de Lima are waiting for her arrival at their home in Iriga City, Camarines Sur.
Earlier this week, the Muntinlupa Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 206 granted the 64-year-old Former Justice Secretary Leila de Lima to post bail after more than six years in detention. She will finally be able to return to her family.
The lady politician was imprisoned in 2017 after she was accused of receiving drug-related money to fund her senatorial campaign way back in 2016. She was kept away from her family for almost six years.
The former lawmaker is finally returning home to her family in San Agustin, Iriga City after spending six Christmases with only a cardboard standee as a substitute for her physical presence.
De Lime becomes emotional upon hearing the good news and even asks God to forgive and bless President Duterte for fabricating stories and accusations against her.
The personality has been known for speaking up about things she believes in, especially about human rights. She was accused of some things related to drugs, but she has denied these accusations.
On the other hand, Ronnie Dayan, the former politician’s ex-lover was also allowed to post bail after several years of imprisonment. He was accused of being the ‘bagman,’ responsible for delivering inmate tributes to the former senator.
