Enchong Dee talked about his new MMFF 2023 movie
Kapamilya actor Enchong Dee said that he is proud to be a Filipino and this is the reason behind his recent statement.
Enchong has done different roles in TV shows and movies. This year, he is part of the movie GomBurZa which is about the lives and sufferings of priests Mariano Gómes, José Burgos, and Jacinto Zamora during the Spanish era.
Enchong plays the role of Padre Zamora and in a previous interview, he revealed that he almost lost this role.
In a recent interview with The Philippine Star, Enchong Dee expressed happiness and pride in being part of this historical film that is named one of the official entries for the Metro Manila Film Festival 2023.
He said that his patriotism was awakened by this film. “I can say that I’m so proud to be a Filipino. I love this country, I would fight for this country. And if my way of saying that to people and my way of inspiring other people to love this country more is through my films then I would gladly take it and I will gladly take more projects,” the actor said.
Enchong said that through this movie he made under Media Quest his love for the Philippines intensified and quipped that the production company knows who to contact once they will make another movie like this again.
Then, the actor said that the viewers would surely feel proud a Filipinos as well and they will envision the Philippines as one of the greats.
“I’m so proud to be a Filipino and I’m so happy that I get to share this film and show it to the younger generation and be like ‘pag minahal niyo ‘yung bansa natin, mas malaki ‘yung tyansa natin na paakyatin ‘yung antas ng bansa natin,” Enchong Dee shared.
GomBurZa is directed by Pepe Diokno and also features seasoned thespians Mr. Dante Rivero and Cedrick Juan.
