Department of Budget and Management Announces Early Release of Year-End Bonus & Cash Gifts to Qualified Gov’t Workers
The Department of Budget and Management has announced the release of year-end bonus and cash gifts starting today, November 15, 2023.
Starting on Wednesday, qualified government workers will begin receiving their Year-End Bonus (YEB) and Cash Gift (CG). These bonuses are a way of recognizing and appreciating the hard work and dedication of government workers throughout the year.
As of October 31, 2023, the Year-End Bonus is calculated as one month of the employee’s basic pay while the Cash Gift amounts to P5,000.
Budget Secretary Amenah F. Pangandaman said that the early release of these bonuses is in compliance with the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. He wanted to ensure that the government would acknowledge the contributions of its employees to the country.
“This is in line with the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. to ensure that our government workers are given these rightful tokens for all their sacrifices that are greatly contributing to the reactivation of our economy,” Pangandaman said.
Pangandaman expressed gratitude to government workers who go the extra mile and devote long hours to public service. She emphasized that the bonuses are well-deserved tokens of appreciation for the sacrifices made by these hardworking individuals.
Public servants are required to have a minimum of four months of service from January 1 to October 31 of the current year with continuous employment in the government, in order to receive the Year-End Bonus and Cash Gift.
The program ensures that those who have actively contributed to public service throughout the year are the ones benefiting from these financial rewards.

Secretary Pangandaman reminded the government employees to use their bonuses wisely. She urged them to prioritize essential needs over luxuries.
“Alam ko marami sa inyo na excited matanggap ang bonus ninyo, pero sana huwag natin kalimutang gamitin ito ng tama. Spend it wisely, and invest it on things and needs that truly matter. Unahin ninyo ang mga kailangan kaysa luho lang,” she added.
