Vilma Santos misses being in the world of politics
Star for all Seasons Vilma Santos revealed that she received an offer to run for representative in the 2025 elections.
Vilma is one of the most prominent showbiz personalities in the Philippines. She has proven her acting ability several times and the younger generation of artists is looking up to what she has achieved.
Aside from her successful career in the world of entertainment, Vilma or Ate Vi was able to establish a successful political career.
In a recent interview, based on the article in Bandera, Vilma Santos admitted that she misses being in politics. She shared that even though she is now focused on her acting career, she is still aware of what is happening in the world of politics.
The veteran actress also shared that she keeps herself updated of the latest issues. “Nami-miss ko rin kasi 24 years din ako. So nakabantay ako sa nangyayari sa bansa,” she said.
Vilma shared that she has been watching committee hearings, and she is also aware of the inflation, and the rising prices of basic commodities like rice. Even though she is in showbiz now, she still gets affected by these.
“Na parang kung may magagawa ka lang na batas… ba’t di kayo magpasa ng ganito. May ganu’n na akong pakiramdam,” she said. However, she said that she has no power right now.
Vilma Santos also shared that she received an offer to return to politics in 2025. “They want me to go back to pagiging congresswoman,” she said.
Meanwhile, Vilma Santos expressed happiness that her son TV host Luis Manzano was cleared of the accusation that he was involved in a gas station investment scam. The veteran actress said that she knows her son and that he is not someone who would get involved in wrongdoings like that.
