Joey Paras Dies – Actress Candy Pangilinan wrote this heartfelt message for her friend the late comedian Joey Paras.
The world of showbiz is mourning the death of Joey who is known for his comedic stints. He has been through a lot when it comes to his health. He suffered from COVID-19 back in 2020 and this greatly affected his health as he was hospitalized.
Two years before that, he had heart surgery. In a social media post shared by his niece confirming his death, it was said that his heart already gave up.
After he passed away, the family of Joey Paras faced financial problems because of his hospital bills. Because of this, the comedian’s family asked for people’s help with their finances.
The bereaved family has not posted yet any update regarding the funeral details, as of writing.
In an Instagram post on October 30, Candy Pangilinan expressed disbelief that she lost a friend. “Sumabay ka talaga sa eleksyon at humabol sa undas,” the actress wrote. She also told Joey to send her regards to their friends.
“Paki hello ako kay Direk Wenn, kay Phi, kay choco, st marami pang iba…Rest in peace my friend. My prayers are with you. You fought well… To all my friends, i love you all…” the actress wrote. Many netizens in the comment section also expressed sadness over Joey’s death.
Joey Paras was 45 years old. He rose to fame after being part of the Zsa Zsa Zaturnnah musical back in 2006. From that, he did several shows and movies Momzillas which featured Diamond Star Maricel Soriano. He was also one of the cast members of Bekikang which was directed by the late director Wenn Deramas.
The late comedian won Best Supporting Actor in the New Breed category of the 2013 Cinemalaya Independent Film Festival for his role as a cyber-scammer in Babagwa (Spider’s Web).
