Millions of Pinoys Registered to Vote for Upcoming Barangay, SK Polls
If you hope for a brighter tomorrow for the Philippines, your contribution must start with voting for the right people for the positions.
In the country, many people are gearing up for the upcoming Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) elections which are set on Monday, October 30, 2023. The campaign period is ongoing until the 28th day of the month.
Undeniably, amid the campaign period, there are cryptic election-related posts circulating online. One of them is the viral video of a crocodile walking on the road and there was a voice over of a person campaigning for the upcoming election. It gained countless reactions with a lot of people agreeing with the idea.
Although the said post may have been taken to the social media platforms for fun, truth be told that many individuals believe that there are greedy and corrupt politicians running for another term of office. There are also those who claimed that some politicians can only be seen during elections.
Whether or not they exist, Pinoys must be wiser in exercising their right to suffrage. I recognize every person’s right in choosing who to vote but I also believe that considering the track records of the politicians is one way to help the country. We need the right people that can perform the job and not only those who are popular, wealthy, or close to the public.
Undeniably, a voter has no right to complain for the poor service of a candidate who already has a negative track record before he or she even got into the position. Pinoys must think twice before casting their votes to really make sure we’re putting the right people for the job.
