Annually, the Philippine calendar has several dates marked on red. These are regular holidays in the country and it is just one of the many types of holidays in a year. It is usually a celebration of an important event or person in Philippine history. Aside from the regular holidays which are constant holidays every year, there are also special non-working days.

Every month, there is always at least date marked in red – or a special holiday. During this type of holiday, the suspension of classes in schools as well as the work in most offices most especially government offices is observed.

Most often, there are programs and celebrations held to mark the commemoration of a person or event that is significant in the country’s history which caused the regular holiday. While the work in government offices is suspended during regular holidays, there are private companies that continue the operation.

In the case of employees who work during regular holidays, they receive holiday benefits for employees. On a regular holiday, the rule says that employees who report to work will get an additional pay that is equivalent to 100% of their basic salary rate. It is aside from their wage on the said day.

In the case of special non-working days, the employees get an additional pay that is equivalent to 30% of their daily salary rate on top of their pay for the said day. The question is, are there November 2023 holidays in the Philippines?
