Kim Chiu On Her “Kabit” Role In ‘Linlang’: ‘Kalaban ko ‘yung sarili ko’

Kim Chiu had to set aside her dignity for this role

Kapamilya actress Kim Chiu said that her ‘kabit” role in the series Linlang is challenging for her because this is against her values.

The series also features Paulo Avelino and JM de Guzman. The star-studded cast is joined by Diamond Star Maricel Soriano who plays as mother of the two lead actors.

In the series, Kim plays the wife of Paulo. However, she also had a relationship with JM and the conflict starts from here. During the press conference for this series, based on the article in Bandera, Kim admitted that this is against what she believes is right.

The actress admitted that this is a challenging role for her because even herself is against her character. “Lahat po ng ito ay mahirap para sa akin dahil una, kinokontra ko pa ‘yung role ko rito. Kalaban ko ‘yung sarili kong dignidad sa pinaglalaban ng karakter ko,” Kim Chiu.

She also said that she needed to convince herself that this is what really Juliana, her character, is. The actress had to believe and justify her character’s behavior.

Parang ano kami opposite beliefs pero at the end of the day, I’m an actor and kailangan ko ‘tong gampanan, kailangan maniwala ‘yung mga tao sa pinapanood nila,” the Chinita Princess explained.

The actress also stressed that her character is far different from her real personality. She is aware that oftentimes, actors are associated with their characters, there are fans who can’t separate the character from who the actor is.
