Ricardo Cepeda is detained due to this case filed against him
Seasoned actor Ricardo Cepeda was arrested for syndicated estafa and his son released a statement defending him.
The actor who is Richard Cesar Go in real life is the former husband of seasoned actress Snooky Serna. On October 7, the Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit of the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) arrested Ricardo in Caloocan City.
This is due to the syndicated estafa case filed against him. Based on the report from Bandera, the court has not recommended bail. Because of this, he is now being detained at the Quezon City Police District Camp Karingal.
Following this issue against the seasoned actor, his son released a statement through a Facebook post. Joshua de Sequera defended his father from the allegation.
“My Father Richard Cepeda Go was wrongfully accused,” Joshua stressed. He explained that his father is just a product endorser of the company being accused of this and that Ricardo has nothing to do with the investment scam and bouncing checks.
“Please spread the word. My Father Richard Cepeda Go was wrongfully accused. He was simply the product endorser of a sales company. They used the title BRAND AMBASSADOR (which many companies also use),” Joshua added.
Ricardo’s son also said that the company offered an investment scheme that his father did not know of. When this scheme went wrong, people who invested started to file cases against anyone they thought was involved, including Joshua’s father.
He added that Ricardo’s lawyer can easily prove his innocence and his name has nowhere to be found in any memorandum of agreement documents. Joshua also laments that his father is now in detention as their camp is processing the request for bail.
“I have seen a lot of hateful comments about this. IF YOU DON’T KNOW WHAT REALLY HAPPENED KEEP YOUR COMMENTS TO YOURSELF,” the son of Ricardo Cepeda said.
Joshua’s mother actress Marina Benipayo also defended Ricardo from the bashing. She told the public not to judge her husband quickly.
Ricardo’s former wife is actress Snooky Serna who previously revealed in an interview that she suffered from mental illness.
